Follow the annual income limit on your tax card

Pay particular attention to the annual income limit on your tax card, especially at the end of the year and at the turn of the year. For seafarers, the previous year's (december) wages are still paid in January and the income is counted as income for the previous year. It is therefore important to pay attention to the annual income limit on your tax card so that the income limit on your tax card and your annual income are in sync.

If the income exceeds the annual income limit and the tax rate on the tax card is calculated too low, the tax will be charged at the additional rate, leaving you with less of your salary.
